National Labrador Week
April 9 - 13, 2007
WHEREAS: the Labrador Retriever is the most popular breed of pure bred dog in the United States, and
WHEREAS: The Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac, Inc. is one of the oldest Labrador Retriever clubs in the country, and
WHEREAS: the Annual Potomac Specialty is one of the oldest Labrador Specialties in the country, and
WHEREAS: the Potomac Specialty is the largest Labrador Retriever specialty in the world, and
WHEREAS: the Holiday Inn and Conference Center at FSK Mall and the City of Frederick, Maryland, have hosted this great dog show for more than ten years, and
WHEREAS: Frederick County will be host to the largest gathering of Labrador Retrievers in the world.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, William J. Holtzinger, Mayor of the City of Frederick, Maryland, hereby proclaim the week of April 9 through April 13 as National Labrador Retriever Week and ask all of the gentle citizens of Frederick, Maryland to warmly welcome the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac, Inc. and all guests, exhibitors and especially all of the most spectacular Labrador Retrievers in the world to our fair city!.
